NTUBS proudly presents "Exhibition on The Arts and Practices of Buddhism". The exhibition will encompass various topics as follows:
Buddhism and Science: Meditation and its benefit towards brain
Cultural and Arts: Calligraphy, Zen Paintings and amazing Buddhism Places & Monuments around the world
Fund Raising Event for Muscular Dystrophy Association Singapore (*in this event you also manage to experience calligraphy writing!!)

NTUBS Dharma TalkDo you ever cling onto your emotion which causes you to be unhappy? Most people will tell you to let it go but "How to let it go?"

This talk will provide you with some guidance and direction on how to let go when situation arises. Through this talk we hope that you will get the fundamental on understanding on how things arise, to let them go and to be a happier person.

Some background information of the speaker:
Ven. Bodhi or Ven. Shi Chun Yi was initiated into Bhikkhuni Order in 1996 and received Higher Ordination in Taiwan in 1997. She obtained her basic degree in National University of Singapore, doing Chinese Studies and Mass Communication, graduating in 1994. She went on to do her postgraduate studies in Sri Lanka, specializing in Abhidharma. After 7 years in Sri Lanka, she obtained her PhD degree in 2003, returned to Singapore and began serving the Buddhist Community since.

Dhamma Camp is an annual camp held during the break between end of semester 1. The duration of the camp will be 4 days 3 nights. This camp will be held in a temple or monastery, with the main objective of introducing Buddhism practice and building spiritual friendship in a monastic environment.

If it isn't, then what is the path that leading toward Nibbanna (Enlightenment) and how to practice according to it?

The speaker of this event will be Bro. Vajiro (Richard) Chia.

Bro. Vajiro (Richard) Chia is an experienced Dhamma teacher who has a clear and straightforward approach to Buddha's teachings. He is able to bring out dynamism of Buddhism, and its relevance in present day. Vajiro learned Buddhism and Abhidhamma from the late Venerable Narada Thera, one of the greatest Sri Lankan Buddhist scholar of the 20th century.

Vajiro is also well-known for his effective and efficient meditation instructions, having guided many through the levels of concentration and stages of insight knowledge. His coaching method has helped many students to REALISE the teachings of the Buddha. Vajiro was formally trained under the late Venerable Amatha Gavesi of Sri Lanka on Samatha and Vipassana meditation.
