Conductor’s Profile: Ven. Chuan Guan

  • Ordained under Master Miu King ( 妙 境 長 老 ) in 2002, began his monastic training in Fa Yun Monastery (New Mexico, United States).
  • Learned the sutras and practised meditation under the Mahayana Buddhist tradition while studying the Theravadin Pali Canon.
  • 2006 to 2016, trained and served as resident monk in Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (KMSPKS) and the Buddhist Library.
  • Focus on Dharma learning, meditation and provides counselling and spiritual services.


Conductor’s Profile: Ven. Phra Goh Chun Kiang

  • Currently the spiritual advisor of Buddhist Youth Network (BYN).
  • Spiritual advisor of Singapore Polytechnic Buddhist Society.
  • Received higher ordination into the Thai Dhammayut tradition at Santi Forest Monastery in Johor, Malaysia in 2008.
  • Took 3 refuges and 5 precepts from Khen Rinpoche from Amitabha Buddhist Centre in 2001.
  • Previously served as Publications Secretary and President for Singapore Polytechnic Buddhist Society.
  • Was a volunteer Sunday school teacher at KMSPKS.

Sunday Cultivation Session: Basic Meditation Class

NTUBS is conducting basic meditation class as part of the continuation of sunday cultivation programme from last month.
Session 4 – The True Nature of Body and Mind
In this session, we will be doing Insight Meditation (Vipassana) and a short talk on 5 Hindrances and Qualities of Stream Enterer (Sotapanna) by Bro. Kalfian Jo.

Conductor’s Profile:
  • Bro. Kalfian Jo was from Tri Ratna Senior High School in 2008, a Buddhist School in Indonesia and has been practising meditation since then. He further continues his study to Singapore, NTU and was fully active in NTU Buddhist society as committees since the very first year of studies. He always joined and help to support all activities such as Dharma Camp, Freshmen Orientation, Buddhist Awareness Week, Little Bodhi Outing, Old Folks Home Service, and many more.
  • He is a committed practitioner and has also graduated from Basic Buddhism Course and Basic Meditation Course at Pu Ji Si Buddhist Research Centre. He has joined many meditation sessions locally and overseas.
  • He feels meditation has changed his life tremendously and benefited him so much and he is determined to share more about meditation to the University students so that they could handle the stress in University life.
