September 19, 2007, LT4, CEE Club 17th Management Committee Investiture was held with a great success, thanks to the participation of our professors, fellow students, and most importantly our guest of honor, Prof. Teh Cee Ing, chair of the School of CEE.
Symbolizing the handover of the authority and duty from the 16th Management Committee of CEE Club to the 17th, the investiture was regarded as one of the most important function of the year for CEE Club. At the beginning of the ceremony, Prof. Teh was invited to give a welcome speech, during which he expressed his support to the Club and emphasized the importance of participation in events and activities from all CEE students. After the 16th Committee members were introduced to the audiences, Albert Tay Kok Hian, president of the 16th Committee, gave a speech to summarize the various achievements that the 16th Committee had made in the past year and convey his good wishes to the successors. Being looked forward to by all, the highlight of the ceremony was certainly the introduction of the 17th Committee members. As Prof. Teh pressed the symbolical key, faces of all the 17th Committee members formed the shape of ˇ°17ˇ± on the screen. In his splendid and inspired speech, Raymond Teo Zhia Wee, president of the 17th Committee, stated and explained the vision of the 17th Committee, which was ˇ°to bridge and iron out all the gaps that exist in the current CEE communityˇ±.
The ceremony lasted for about 40 minutes, at the end of which a dinner was served to all participants of the night.
