NTU DanceSport Academy (DSA) serves as a platform for people who wish to take up DanceSport, also known as competitive ballroom dancing. DSA Members will get to learn from qualified coaches from the renowned Shawn and Gladys Danceworld studio, and will also be given the opportunity to advance their skills to a competitive level.
DanceSport consists of ten dances in both the Standard and Latin categories. At DSA, we concentrate mostly on the International Latin dances which are: Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba and Paso Doble. We believe the sole ingredients that make a good dancer lies in commitment and keenness in learning, and almost all of our competing couples (including some who are currently representing Singapore) began with absolutely no dance background.
Absolutely no experience required. What are you waiting for?
Just Dance.

2011 Foxtrot Workshop
First introduced into the American mainstream by a man named Harry Fox in 1913, the Foxtrot has become one of the most popular and lasting dances of the twentieth century. There are two versions of it - the fast one (which the Quickstep has evolved from), and the slow one (further modified by the English into a smooth progressive dance characterized by long, continuous flowing movements across the dance floor). Today, the Slow Foxtrot is competed interntionally in the Standard category of Ballroom dances. Different from the Waltz 1,2,3 beat, it is danced in a 4/4 timing to a wide variety of different music.
Don't worry, there are no foxes nor trotting involved in this elegant dance! ;)
