NTU DanceSport Academy (DSA) serves as a platform for people who wish to take up DanceSport, also known as competitive ballroom dancing. DSA Members will get to learn from qualified coaches from the renowned Shawn and Gladys Danceworld studio, and will also be given the opportunity to advance their skills to a competitive level.
DanceSport consists of ten dances in both the Standard and Latin categories. At DSA, we concentrate mostly on the International Latin dances which are: Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba and Paso Doble. We believe the sole ingredients that make a good dancer lies in commitment and keenness in learning, and almost all of our competing couples (including some who are currently representing Singapore) began with absolutely no dance background.

DSA Camp & Closed Competition
Hello all DanceSport Academy members!
In this two weeks, DSA is proud to present to you our biggest annual event - DSA Camp.
It is going to be filled with exciting programs and workshops. All members are encouraged to join!
Camp details are as follows: Date: 7th, 8th and 9th December Time: 10am - 10pm Venue: Nanyang House Price: $30, inclusive of food and DSA Closed Competition. Dateline: 25th October 2011

2. Rosario lessons on Rumba Routine

3. Xian Siang and Sherlyn's Technique Class (Cha-cha)
This is a great opportunity for you to brush up your Cha-Cha dance technique! Learn as many different ways and skills to dance like a pro!
4. Grooming Class
For girls, this is their happiest moment. We have grooming class to teach you how to make up for competition, to look very elegant and 'powderful'!
For guys, don't worry as this class will also teach you how to do your hair for competition and to look stunning and powerful!
5. Contemporary Dance and Soul Funky: Partner Work
We also have an extra class during camp on Comtemporary Dance!
This workshop will be carried out by Soul Funky with their theme 'Partner Work'.
6. NTU DSA CLOSED COMPETITION
The main highlight of the Camp.
Those who join the camp MUST join this competition.

For those who are new to DSA, we hold competitions among members of DSA annually.
This competition is going to be judged by professionals from SGDF, and prizes and medals will be awarded to our winning teams!
The competition is judged based on Grade/Category: Grade E: Only one dance, either Rumba, Cha-cha, Jive or Samba (Beginners) Grade D: Rumba and Cha-cha Grade C: Rumba, Cha-cha and Jive Grade B: Rumba, Cha-cha, Jive and Samba Grade A: Rumba, Cha-cha, Jive, Samba and Paso Doble
