Earth Hour 2017

Earthlink NTU’s annual community outreach event is back, bigger and better!

This year’s Earth Hour celebration will have double the fun for everyone! Organized together with Jurong Spring CC YEC, the event will be spread across two weekends on 18th March @ NTU and Jurong Spring and 25th March @ Jurong Spring Community Club!

On the 18th, the day begins bright and sunny with a training workshop in NTU! Our event volunteers will be learning more about Earth Hour through fun hands-on workshops and sharing sessions! With all the relevant knowledge fresh in our minds, we’ll head down in the afternoon for a community outreach programme to engage the residents in Jurong Spring!

With our prep-work done, we’re all set and ready for our main event happening on 25th March: a full-day carnival! From a movie screening to fun craft-making workshops, there’s definitely an activity for anyone and everyone! Also, there will be a recycling drive for clothes, papers and e-waste so if you’re living nearby, do bring down your recyclables to the event! Even if you are not, we welcome you! 🙂
Don’t forget to bring along your electricity bill too as you will stand a chance to get prizes!

Earth Hour: Our Green Generation is where all the fun will happen, and Jurong Spring CC is the place you want to be on these two Saturdays! 😉

If you aren’t able to join us, no worries! You can always participate by joining the rest of the world in the lights-out event on 25th March from 8.30pm to 9.30pm! 🙂

Do spread the word and remind one another to join in the worldwide phenomenon!

About Earth Hour

Earth Hour is a worldwide grassroots movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It first started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia where 2.2 million homes and businesses switched their non-essential lights off for one hour as a symbol for their commitment to the planet. Since then, the event is held worldwide during the end of March every year. Earth Hour has grown from a symbolic event in one city into a global movement, crowd-sourcing actions from individuals, businesses, organizations and governments to generate positive environmental outcomes.
