“The greatest threat to our Earth is the hope that someone else would save it.”

~ Robert Swan, the first person to walk to both poles of the Earth.

Indeed, each and every one of us has to play a part in slowing down the rate of planet destruction. The annual Earth Hour is back, and is bound to be more fun and exciting than ever!

This year, Earth Hour 2018 will be hosted at Yuhua CC, with the theme of “Protecting our Earth: One Step at a Time”.

The activities are split into two segments over two Saturdays:

1) Outreach to residents on 17th March

A training workshop will be held for volunteers to bond, play games, and learn more about our annual earth hour event. Volunteers will then be having an outreach at the residential blocks near Yuhua CC.

2)  Night Carnival on 24th March

Volunteers will be involved in a night carnival event at Yuhua CC where they will be supporting a wide range of activities, such as:

  • Hands-on booths including Origami-making, Terrarium and Upcycling Workshop
  • Game booths such as Energy Toss and Save the Penguin
  • Exhibition booths and exhibits by HP, PUB, WWF and NEA
  • Lucky draw, buffet, live performances and many more!

Through these fun-filled activities, we hope that the participants can learn more about the environment and how to play a part in environmental sustainability.

Are you interested in the carnival activities and spreading environmental awareness? If yes, sign up as a volunteer for this event!

As a volunteer, you can look forward to freebies such as an exclusive event T-shirt and goodie bag. Meals and two-way transport from NTU will be provided on both days.

Feel free to contact us at earthlink-earthhour@e.ntu.edu.sg if you have any further queries.

Come join with your friends, have fun and at the same time, do a good cause for the environment. We look forward to seeing you at Earth Hour 2018!
