Here are the various capacities at which you can be involved in the club’s activities! There are positions of different commitment levels and scopes, choose one that fulfills your desires and hopes! 🙂
Love the environment, but have too much on hand already? You can still benefit from an Earthlink membership! 🙂
Don’t fret! Being a member of Earthlink NTU entitles you to join any of our events (mostly for free!), especially those that are only opened for members! You get to enjoy the activities organized by the different portfolios (there’s usually free food!) and mingle with the committee members! 🙂 You will also be added to our mailing list, where we will keep you updated with the latest club events and environment-related opportunities in Singapore!
Earthlink NTU welcomes new members all year round!
Love organizing nature and sustainability-related activities for your peers? Looking to forge deep relationships with a close circle of friends? Then join Earthlink as a sub-comm member! 🙂
Sub-committee members will be involved in the planning and execution of their own portfolio’s activities! Spending a year with your club-mates working on projects that you all have interest in will definitely bring the group closer together! 🙂
We have 13 portfolios ranging from event-based ones (Nature Guiding and Campaign Management) to the omnipresent ones (Publicity and Publications). Click here to find out more!
Our sub-comm recruitment drive (SCRD) typically happens in August, the week after our Annual General Meeting! Do look out for our announcements on all our publicity channels!
We will accept applications after SCRD on a case-by-case basis. If you’ve missed the SCRD, here are the steps that you should take:
1) If you aren’t an Earthlink member yet (or your membership has expired), do fill up the registration form.
2) Email our secretary at earthlink-secretary@ (+ the usual ntu email format). In your email, do state your name and tell us 2 portfolios you are most interested in.
3) The secretary will connect you to the portfolio directors. The directors will then conduct an interview with you and if the stars are aligned, you will become part of the portfolio! 🙂
Relish challenges and want to lead your team? Then becoming a main committee member will suit you well! 😀What does the maincomm do?
Our main committee members are in charge of leading their individual portfolios. They form the link between the many different portfolios Earthlink NTU has!
Other than organizing meetings with their sub-committee, they will also have to attend main committee meeting, usually held once a month.
Main committee members are chosen during our Annual General Meeting in August. Candidates will have to make a 3-minutes speech covering the plans and aspirations they have for the portfolio they are interested in. Then, a vote will be conducted by the attendees of the meeting and the candidate will have to garner sufficient votes to be elected as the portfolio’s director.

Besides attending the main committee meeting and scrutinizing each portfolio’s plans, they will have their own EXCOs meeting to discuss the club’s strategic aims and direction. Also, they take part in quarterly discussions with other environmental clubs during the Joint University Environment Conference.
The selection procedure is similar to that of the main committee members. 🙂
