Chinese New Year is also known as Lunar New Year or Spring Festival. Other than being the biggest event of the year for the Chinese community, it is also a highly anticipated festival among other races in the multiracial community of Singapore.
This festival traditionally begins on the first day in the lunar calendar and ends on the fifteenth day. Each year, Chinatown of Singapore will be at the liveliestmoment during this period. Street will be stunningly lit up, Chinese-style decorations, as well as festive night bazaar will be all around the town.
Thus, we would like to take this opportunity of the year to share with you this eagerly anticipated festive celebration of Singapore.
In this Night Walk, participants will be guided by the committees of NTU Heritage Club around Chinatown to introduce the cultural practices and tradition in this biggest celebration in Chinese community.

Exhibition of Dragon and Lion Dance
Dragon and Lion dance is one of the most precious traditional performances that have been inherited from the past generation.
Through this exhibition, we will be showing the origin as well as different types of Dragon and Lion dances in addition to various costumes used in performing those dances.
FREE KOI will be given to lucky participants to attempt quizzes related to the exhibition.

Terracotta Warriors - The First Emperor and His Legacy
Currently a special exhibition is held in Asian Civilization Museum, which is: Terracotta Warriors -- The First Emperor and His Legacy.This is the first time ever an exhibition of Terracotta Warriors is being held in Singapore as well as in South East Asia, which features one hundred artefacts from Shaanxi province in China. Besides terracotta figures, the display contains important bronzes and jades from the Qin state before the time of the First Emperor, Shi Huangdi. The Han dynasty inherited the legacy of unified China, and charming terracotta figures from this later period show how the First Emperor¡¯s tomb influenced later burials.
Transportation is provided from NTU to Asian Civilization Museum.
There will also be tour guides from the museum to explain and guide the participants through the exhibition. All of these only cost $2 for members and $4 for non-members.
