What is HSS Club?

NTU HSS Club is the Academic Club of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and all students of the School are members of the Club. Our School comprises of the following six diverse divisions - Chinese, Economics, English, Linguistics & Multilingual Studies, Psychology and Sociology.

Our Club was formed to enhance and enliven our members' university experience both academically and socially. Through events such as Exam Welfare Week, HSS Week, Freshmen Orientation Camp, Convocation Ball, Dinner & Dance as well as dialogue sessions, they are able to interact and bond with fellow students from other divisions and, through this exchange, foster an unique HSS Identity.

We strive to enrich the lives of our fellow HSS mates through both social and academic activities aimed to foster a common belonging to the school.

Our Mission

To promote the academic pursuits of the members of the Club and in particular, areas that pertain to our 6 core divisions.

To foster a common bond amongst Students so as to create a HSS Identity.

To provide a recognized means of communications to the University, our Student Body and any external organizations.

Significance of HSS Club Logo

Our HSS logo was formally established for NTU HSS Club with an overwhelming number of votes from our HSS students.

~ The word "HSS" is represented by the 3 human figures joining together at the hands and the legs.

~ The joining of the hands at the top represents the unity of all HSS students towards a common goal reaching for the zenith.

~ The 2 bright colours - Yellow and Red - represents HSS students encompassing a vibrant and unique lifestyle here in NTU School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

~ Yellow represents the warmth, cheerfulness, hope and happiness that every HSS students shares while Red represents passion for life and learning.
