Event Details

The event will have the same format as last time, with students being tested in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, General Knowledge as well as taking an IQ test. The questions will remain highly challenging and test the depth and understanding of the participants.

Event Description
The quiz will contain three rounds, as explained below –

  • Preliminary Round

This round will contain an online quiz to be taken on a particular date, off campus either at their homes or any other preferred locations. Each participant will be allotted a login ID and password, which they can use. They will have one hour from when they log in to finish the quiz, and will be limited to one login only.

  • Penultimate Round

Based on the results of the preliminary round, 30 students will be chosen to come on campus and take another quiz. This quiz will be conducted in one of the IT labs, and will be of a higher level of difficulty.

  • Final Round

The third and final round will have 4 students chosen based on their performance in the previous round. They will then be quizzed by a quiz master in one of the Lecture Theatres.

The tentative dates for the event are as follows –

  • Preliminary round (online) to be held on 7th March 2009 (Saturday)
  • Second and Final Round to be held on 21st March 2009 (Saturday)

Event Publicity
In order to publicize the event the Public Relations Officers will contact the relevant personnel in the JC’s, secondary schools, polytechnics and Technical Universities. They already have all the contacts, and apart from contacting the said personnel, publicity brochures, which will contain event descriptions and details, banners, posters and fliers, will be distributed throughout schools.  We will try and reach out to as many institutions as possible and build on the success of the previous events.

Technical Details and Sponsorship
The technical directors are going to design web portals with the help of CED (Centre for Education Development) that will allow users to login and answer quizzes during the first two rounds. We will try to get the IEEE to link our webpage to theirs so that it is easier for us to design for and accommodate a large number of users. In terms of sponsorship, our Vice Chairperson (Business) and Business Manager have obtained contacts from numerous companies that showed great support for the event in the previous years. We hope to see continuing interest and enthusiasm from them and sponsorships for this event.
