NTUALS Photo Competition 2009

Hey Animal Lovers!

In celebrating World Animal Day, NTU Animal Lovers' Society is organizing a PHOTO COMPETITION. The categories are:

1. overall best-looking photo
2. owner-pet lookalike

Photo has to be above 4MP and have good resolution with 4R size.

Winners will be judged by voting system conducted over 2 days during the Animal Day (22 and 23 October in North Spine and South Spine). There are 3 great prizes to be won!

So, what are you waiting for? Send your photo with your lovely pet to us (events.als@gmail.com) together with your name and contact number. You can send more than one photo. :)

ALS Movie Screening

Hey Animal Lovers!

You are all invited! Come along with your friends, too. There will be lots of fun and excitement. We have 20 goodie bags to be given away! Refreshment will be provided as well.

Jesse (Jason James Richter), the once-troubled youth whose life was changed by his friendship with the killer whale Willy, is spending the summer on board a ship assisting a group a whale researchers, including his old friend Randolph (August Schellenberg), and Drew (Annie Corley), an oceanographer. Jesse once used a harmonica to communicate with Willy, and when he plays his mouth harp through the ship's underwater sound system, he is able to find his old friend, who is now raising a family of his own. Volunteer services project at Noah's Ark

Date: tentatively December

Main jobs: building shelters for dogs, interacting with animals (including horses!)
Transport: we'll charter buses into Noah's Ark

NTU ALS Outing on 24th September 2008

Dear ALS members,

It's the new academic year and ALS has organized our first outing for all our animal loving members out there! So grab this chance to and join us for an up close session with the animals and get to interact with other members as well. Registration closes on 19th September 2008 (Friday) at 12pm sharp. Seats are limited so it is on a first come first serve basis.

Details of the trip are stated below. 2-way transport at Kranji Mrt or NTU will be provided so no worries on getting lost on the way. =)

Itinerary

Date: 24th September 2008 (Wednesday)

Places: Qian Hu Fish Farm and Hay Dairies Goat Farm.

0830: Pick-up at the carpark beside the Nanyang Heritage Centre and Hall 4

0850: Pick-up at Kranji Mrt Station

0910: Arrival at Hay Dairies Goat Farm, educational tour then free and easy for your own activities. Depart at 1050 for Qian Hu Fish Farm.

1100: Arrival at Qian Hu fish farm and educational tour till 1130 followed by fish spa and free and easy.

1230: Depart for Kranji Mrt station and NTU.

HIGHLIGHTS: Free goat milk and souvenir and that's not all, we also have a fish spa lined up for all you guys/girls!!!

Price per person: $10/= (Payment to be made on the day itself so exact change if possible)
