NTU-NUS Friendly 2011
This year's friendly was hosted by our friends at NUS. Things started off with a friendly dinner and walkaround, introducing us to the NUS landscape. At around 2030H, the games began with a time control of 15 minutes each side. Two rounds were played and we emerged victorious with 13-11. But things were friendly between both sides and the event concluded with a mixed transfer chess tournament, with each team having a NUS and NTU member. Nothing could get better than this.

There will be no Chess Club session this coming Friday, 11th March, due to the annual NTU-NUS friendly match. The event will be held in the National University of Singapore (NUS) this year. The venue is Function Room 4, Prince George's Park (PGP), in NUS. Feel free to come down to support the NTU team on Friday!

That seems forever, taking time off between periods to tend to the chess booth during the Sports Expose. It was nice to see such a good turnout at our booth and we hope we can see you there this coming Friday 11.02.2011 for the welcome day, the first session of the semester. Nanyang Technological University Chess Club (NTU Chess Club) was founded in the year 1991. The club has since been the forerunner in nourishing and enriching the university's talents in chess. "Training sessions" are conducted on a weekly basis for players of various strengths, while "Teaching Clinics" for starters are conducted once every academic year.
In addition, the NTU Chess Club conducts the annual NTU Open Chess Championship to select representatives from its pool of chess players for various external competitions. An annual Simultaneous Display is also conducted to showcase our top chess talents to the rest of the school.
