An appreciation dinner was held for the out-going EXCO members of NTU GSC 2012 for all that they have done for the past year. Good food and company were the theme of the night. Colleagues from GSO and SAO also graced the event and had fun catching up with our EXCO members. Here are some pictures from that fun-filled night:

The party is mainly for singles. Non-singles are also welcome to register, but they can only be audience (instead of players) in the activities and games session. Dinner (Pizzas and BBQ) is available for all our registered participants. There will be attractive prizes for you as well! Note:
1. You can take part in both singing and dance contests. (only one entry in each)
2. In case of participation as a group, only the Group Leader should express interest for the event.
Rules specific to ‘Sing ur Soul’
1. You are allowed to sing any song of your choice (Singing is a must)
2. No limit to Group size (can be solo or group)
3. Karaoke is allowed (only instrumental) or instruments’ accompaniment. (The participants are responsible to arrange for the musical instruments/music for karaoke)
4. In case of karaoke, you will have to submit your own audio track in the appropriate format, before the event. (details will be emailed to you)
5. Max. allowed duration for performance: 3.5 mins
6. Judges’ decision will be final.
Rules specific to ‘Rock n Roll’
1. You are allowed to perform any dance of your choice.
2. No limit to Group size (can be solo or group)
3. You will have to submit your own audio track for the dance in the appropriate format, before the event. (details will be emailed to you)
4. Max. allowed duration for performance: 3.5 mins
7. Use of props is allowed. (The participants are responsible to arrange for their own props and costumes)
5. Judges’ decision will be final
Rehearsal:
A rehearsal cum practice session will be held on 11th March 2013 at the same venue where you would be performing on the day of the event. Such an exercise would not only give you an idea about the stage and lights but would also boost your confidence. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend the rehearsal.

We will be welcoming new students to NTU in Jan 2013 and will be screening the PhD Movie by George Cham (of phdcomics.com fame) in conjunction with the occasion. The movie traces the lives of a few graduate students at various stages of their post-graduate experience and portrays many events that resonates with many of us. The NTU-GSC had organized the ‘Let’s go Bowling’ event on 21st October 2012 @‘Orchid Bowl’ at Chevrons. With over 70 graduate students thronging the alley, It was a wonderful sight to see almost all the lanes of the bowling alley being occupied by them. Students were grouped into teams, with each team occupying one lane and the team spirit, energy and synergy of the teams added all the more to the fun they had.
Students also enjoyed the light snacks provided by NTU-GSC and had a good time making new friends and meeting new people.
Though the highlight of the event was to get together and have a fun evening, NTU-GSC congratulated the best performers of the event by giving away exciting gift vouchers.
Also, NTU-GSC appreciates and thanks the volunteers for their help, support and participation in making the whole event a memorable one!

An annual affair involving the committee members of the various clubs and societies in NTU. A/Prof. Kwok Kian Woon Anthony, Provost for Student Life, made a speech and reminded everyone about the importance of student leaders.

The Guest-Of-Honor, Prof. Bertil Andersson, gave an inspiring speech about how students have pushed NTU to greater heights and how student leaders play a part in this battle. He believed working hard and playing hard is important in the life of a student.

Dinner began as soon as the speeches were finished and everyone was hungry!! A long queue ensued and soon all the food was gone. The NTU GSC members also took the opportunity to take a group photo and, spoke to the various clubs and societies about recent events. It was a pretty successful event and everyone had a good time. We look forward to seeing more members next year.
