The event “Kayaking at MacRitchie” was held as a part of the out-door trip events to be organized by Social and Recreation Committee of GSC with the support of the Student Affairs Office (SAO) and this event was a huge success. The event was organized with the help of the Singapore Canoe Federation.

This event served the purpose of providing an exciting weekend to our Graduate students and a refreshing break from the academic work. The response received by the students was overwhelming, and for the first time, we extended the maximum possible number of students to 120 in this trip. Participants of different nationalities were grouped in 3 groups (as 40 in each group) with a total of 11 volunteers to help with various responsibilities during the trip. Adequate refreshments (one water bottle, one drink – juice, and 2 breads – cream roles per participant) were provided. All the participants were briefed about the event timeline and were given safety instructions. This event turned out to be a well-managed event and was thoroughly enjoyed by the participants.
