NTU has a wide variety of resources that can strengthen students’ career and job search skills. NTU Career & Attachment Office (CAO), NTUitive (Nanyang Innovation and Enterprise Office (NIEO) and NTUVentures) and Nanyang Technopreneurship Center (NTC) are resources which help students improve their job perspectives.
CAO and Career and Entrepreneurship (C&E) Committee of GSC organised an introductory talk on the aforementioned resources within NTU for postgraduate students on 21 January 2015. The event consisted of:
1) Introduction of CAO and the host of services it provides (NTU Talent Site, NTU JobPass Mobile App, iFair etc.) for the graduate students.
2) Introduction of services provided by NTC and NTUitive in assisting graduate students in the entire process of bootstrapping a new start-up in Singapore; pitfalls and common mistakes that needs to be avoided.
3) Introduction of NTU Graduate Student Council and its role in addressing the career needs and aspirations of current Master’s and Ph.D. students.
4) Networking and Q&A session.
During his talk, Mr. Loh Pui Wah, Director of CAO, emphasised that their goal is to connect students to jobs and link them directly to potential employers using different resources.
NTUitive was introduced as the commercial arm and technology holding company of NTU which promotes innovation and entrepreneurship and supports students in commercialising their research.
The mission of NTC, as a multi-disciplinary university-level centre, was introduced as developing entrepreneurial leaders, both global and local, within the University and the region.
