The Career & Entrepreneurship Committee and Academic Events Committee, in collaboration with NTU Society of Young Researchers have recently invited Dr. Lim Lian Tze , TeXpert at Overleaf, for a Latex workshop in our university campus.

Date/Time/Venue: 24th September 2016 / 10:30am–12:30pm / TCT LT

The session was be an interactive engagement between speaker and participants with active discussion on the following aspects in particular:

  • Advantages of Latex as a typesetting software for scientific publications.
  • Brief demonstration of all the important aspects of LaTeX (sectioning, cross-referencing, figures + tables, maths).
  • Proper referencing of bibliography in scientific publications.
  • Using overleaf as a tool for multiple user collaboration and version control.

Dr. Lim Lian Tze is a trainer and consultant in LaTeX typesetting and design, providing LaTeX-related support to the Overleaf user community. She has delivered LaTeX training at Nanyang Technological University, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Multimedia University, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Malaysia Perlis; and have provided consultancy services to organisations including the Linux Foundation, Consumers International and Al-Andalus Legal Consulting; as well as researchers from local and overseas universities. She has also created LaTeX document classes and templates for USM, UM, MMU, UKM, Unimas, UUM, Caltech, NUSA journal, as well as participating in the new PNAS template creation.
