The Academic Events Committee (AEC) serves as the educational arm of the Graduate Student Council. With its flagship event, the Three Minute Thesis (3MT), the committee aims not just to challenge graduate students to push the boundaries of their intellect and presentation skills, but also to showcase to a wider audience what NTU students have to offer.

3MT was developed by the University of Queensland back in 2008, and has gained international enthusiasm since its inception. With the support of the President’s Office (Student Life), Graduate Studies Office and Student Affairs Office, AEC had brought 3MT for the first time not only in NTU but also in Singapore in 2013. This year, AEC will also be organizing 3MT SINGAPORE, where the finalists of 3MT NTU compete with the finest and brightest students from other universities in Singapore. For more details about 3MT NTU and 3MT SINGAPORE, please visit the website www.ntu3mt.org and like the page fb\3MTatNTU.

AEC also conducts events such as liaison talks and various workshops with NTU Libraries, for graduate students, and seminars on critical thinking skills with renowned speakers from the region and the world.
