Our club will be setting up our booth from Monday (15th of August) to Wednesday (17th of August). Make sure you drop by and say hello. We have our committee members manning the booth who are more than happy to introduce you to our club and answer your queries.

The welcome tea and our annual general meeting will be held on the evening of Wednesday (17th of August), 7.00pm at Nanyang House.

FAQ

Heya! In lieu of the CCA Week, we have put together a FAQ to answer the many burning questions you may have.

So what do you guys do?
PVS basically consists of 3 different sections of interest, namely Photo, Darkroom and Video. Our main highlights are our monthly photo outing/gatherings, workshops and several ac-hoc events. We are basically a bunch of crazy people who come together to take pictures, share our photos and knowledge with each other, and have fun at the same time!

How often do you guys meet?
We do not have weekly meetings or trainings, nothing of that sort! Members will be notified about our activities through our mailing list, facebook page and our website. If you wish to join any of the activities, simply indicate your interest via the event page (the link and details will be provided in the email).

Do I need a professional camera to join the club?
You do not need to own a DSLR just to join our club! Many of our members are proud to own simple point and shoot digital cameras and take awesome pictures with them too! Even an iPhone camera works fine.
If you are interested in learning how to use a DSLR, we do have equipment available for loan to our members. These cameras are sponsored with the courtesy of Sony. For more details feel free to drop our committee an email via enquiries[at]ntupvs[dot]org.

I am just a beginner, can I still join?
Sure! We are all still learning after all. If you need have any questions or need help our members will be glad to lend you a hand.

How do I sign up?
You can sign up at our CCA booth (outside LT1). We will be open till this Wednesday 17 August, 4pm. After which, you can also sign up as a member during out Welcome Tea session itself on 17 August, 7pm at Nanyang House.

What is the difference between a normal and premium member?
Normal membership costs $5 for 1 academic year. Premium membership however, costs $10 for your entire course of undergraduate study. Premium members also get to attend our Basic Photography Workshop for free.

What are the perks of being a member?
Members get priority for our outings, gatherings, workshops and events. Members will also have access to the loaning of Sony equipments. On top of that, you get to meet other enthusiasts who have the same passion as you

Do we get CCA points for joining the activities?
Sorry no. Main committee members however, do get 5 CCA points yearly (President and Vice President gets 7).

Must I come for the Welcome Tea to be a member?
Who told you that? o_0. Our events are never compulsory, so if you cannot make it this time, no fret! There will be other outings or events which awaits you!
However, if you are interested to join our main committee, you are required to attend the Welcome Tea session as well as our Annual General Meeting. Details of the AGM will be released during the Welcome Tea.

Do you cover school events?
No. We are purely an interest-based club. However, if you are looking to engage our services, be it a professional photo shoot or coverage for your event, feel free to contact our main committee via enquiries[at]ntupvs[dot]org.

Are these cameras for sale?
They look pretty right? xD They are just part of the collection of some of our members.

Happy new year to everyone! We have something exciting that is in the midst of brewing – well, it’s the school holidays and what better to spend it than to have a great time of photography and get-together?

We will be organizing a special, extended photography outing this January. It will be on the 13th of January, 2011 and we will be meeting at Chinese Garden MRT Station at 5.30pm. Our first destination will be Chinese Garden to catch the sunset, before proceeding to Changi Aloha Chalet for a BBQ dinner and stayover. We will also catch the sunrise the next morning – a great opportunity for all, especially for those who live in the far West or North of Singapore.

Our club will be covering the cost of the chalet – participants attending the BBQ dinner will just have to pay $10 that will be collected on the day itself.
