Learn, Share, Grow

The NTU Toastmasters Club is a part of the larger Toastmasters International: a leading movement devoted to making effective communication a worldwide reality.

Toastmasters International

Our primary mission is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

Our organization's core values are integrity, dedication to excellence, service to the member and respect for the individual. These guiding principles serve as anchor points in our decisions, our operations, our planning and our vision for the future.

Our Roots

Nanyang Technological UniversityThe NTU Toastmasters Club (NTU TMC) was chartered in January 1999 under the name of the NBS Toastmasters Club, then a subsidiary of the Accountancy and Business Club of the Nanyang Business School (NBS).

However, the exclusivity suggested by the club’s name eventually warranted a change to the more universal NTU Toastmasters in June 2004.

NTU & InspYre Toastmasters' first joint meetingIn the 3rd quarter of 2005, the club received an unprecedented influx of over 40 new members and that put a strain on available resources. That landslide recruitment eventually resulted in a need to form a second club to accommodate the booming membership. As a consequence, our sister club, the NTU InspYre Toastmasters, was born on June 30, 2006.

Today, both clubs stand as a testament to the same unwavering goal of affording the students of Nanyang Technological University, a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which to develop communication and leadership skills for self-confidence and personal growth!

A typical club falls under the governance of an area which is in turn administered by a division and then collectively as a district. Each district answers to the World Headquarters of Toastmasters International.

Our club, the NTU Toastmasters, falls under the auspices of the following:
