What We Do
At Toastmasters, we learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a mutually supportive environment. Our activities typically consist of:
Chapter Meetings
We conduct a bimonthly chapter meeting attended by an average of over 20 to 30 members and guests. The purpose of each meeting is to give everyone an opportunity to practice:
Conducting meetings
Meetings usually begin with a short business session which helps
members learn basic meeting procedures.
Presenting prepared speeches
Five members present speeches based on projects from the Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Program manuals. Projects cover such topics as speech organization, voice, language, gestures, and persuasion.
Offering constructive evaluation
Every prepared speaker is assigned an evaluator who points out speech
strengths and offers suggestions for improvement.
Giving impromptu speeches
Members present one-to two-minute impromptu speeches on assigned topics.
For a more detailed take on our chapter meetings, please refer to our sample meeting minutes.
Contests
We hold many annual Toastmasters International sanctioned contests
that cover Humorous Speech, Evaluation and
Table Topics, in addition to the illustrious International Speech
contest.
Winners from our club contests represents us at the Area level with subsequent victories seeing them compete at the Division, followed by District level. Success in the District contest will earn a speaker the right to duke it out with giants upon the world stage!
So far, our club has had an impressive
track record of sending our speakers
to the Division level, every single year.

Fellowship
We are also open to new and exciting ways to strengthen our fellowship. Past member bonding activities includes, festive dinners and barbeques!
