IMH Volunteering Opportunities

Social and recreational:

· Art and craft

· sing-a-long

· Outings within the hospital or to places of interest

· Pet therapy (bringing pets and allowing patients to play with them)

· Music therapy – musical chairs

· Party – birthday, festivals

· Exercises

· Dancing

· Performance for patients

Projects:

· gardening

· painting- art, murals

Rehabilitative Activities:

· teaching hygiene and grooming

· Haircut session

· teach simple basic social skills eg courtesy, talking to one another

· teach use of public transport and amenities

Others:

· Simply lending a good listening ear

· Befriending them

· bringing patients to be baptised in a church

· attending to the spiritual needs of the baptised patients in the ward
