NTU Psychology Society was inaugurated in June 2008.
It all started in August 2005, when the Division of Psychology in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) started in NTU. The idea of forming a Society was conceptualized by 3 pioneer Psychology majors – Chin Zhen Hui, Sam Puay Leng, and Alvin Hong, during the HSS Freshmen Orientation Camp.
When school officially started, these three pioneers sought assistance from Psychology professors and Psychology majors from the pioneer cohort. Many came along to offer a helping hand and contributed ideas along the way, which was when the first proposal was drafted. Through various channels, the goal of establishing the society was kept in mind.
After years of proposal and constitution drafting/editing, NTU Psychology Society finally attained the approval from the Students Affairs Office (SAO) to be a recognised, independent society in June 2008.
